A full and textured wine with notes of melon, orchard fruit and almonds with a finish of minerals and sea breeze. Havested by hand, gently pressed, and fermented in stainless steel with indiginous yeasts and no fining or filtering.
The grape Pecorino is named after the sheep (Pecora) that grazed the vineyards eating the local grapes on the "transumanza" or the route shepherds took through Abruzzo in the 1950s. Legend has it the shepherds compensated vineyard owners with wedges of Pecorino cheese. An "up and coming" varietal and sommelier favorite for its expressivity.
