The domaine has been in the Guiberteau family for generations. In WW2, grandfather Guiberteau was caught by the Germans and became a POW in Berlin. For five years, he worked on a farm in Germany until the end the of the war. Decades later, he reconnected with the daughter of the farm owners, who was a small child during the war. After their reconnection, she visited Guiberteau’s winery in France to help with the harvest five years in a row as a repayment for the work he had done during the war. A great story to go with a great wine! A super delicious, lean, and high acid Chenin from the Loire.
